In several interviews ,he said no to running for President. I  would like to see someone of his caliber in the office, but that will never happen in  my time. They run for the office with good intentions, but once they are there, too many crooked politicians and lobbyists to change their way of thinking. It also depends on who they surround them selves with to advise them. I think our sitting President has made poor choices. He has allowed them to much power and we can all see the results of that.

This is unreal. Would that not be an invasion of privacy? I can not believe everything the government is able to do these days. Sickning!!! What right do they have to do this without permission?

I agree to diagree. You can only fight the system so long until you see there is no give and take. The so called POWER people in government are not about to give up their power base. The arrogence of these people, such as Pelosi,Reed to name a few astounds me. Everyone is supposed to listen to and accept their rhetoric and their ideas. I applaud Senator Bayh for sticking to his values, he see's what is happening and does not want to be a part of it. He has been a good Senator for us and we will miss him.  I vote for the person ,not  only for the party. So far, I have not seen too many I would vote for. Just my thoughts.

I was saddened to read our Senator from Indiana is leaving the Senate. Seem's there are so many giving up the battle, which is what I call it. In my thinking ,I feel they are like so many of the voters sickened by what is going on in Washington. I wonder how many of the President's we honor today, would believe what it has come to in our Government. The pettiness just astounds me and the graft that no one seems to want to confront. I fear what my children and grand children have to look forward to if it does not turn around.I am speaking of both parties. At election time, who do you vote for. It is no wonder the young people don't get out and vote. Who can they ,or us for that matter, trust?Sad state of affairs to say the least.

I agree with you Herman. In this day and age ,it is anything goes. Too much freedom ,not enough disapline. Because our society has become so needful for material things, both parents work. I realize in this time of our economy, both parents have to work to make ends meet. Because of this we have many young people going home to empty houses and temptation being what it is, things do happen. When my grand daughter graduated High School last year, it was a very small class. Out of that class, six were either pregnant or had just had a baby. But the public does not seem to care. They treat them like it is ok. All six of these girls have their parents raising these babies. The young people just don't seem to have any morals when it comes to this. There is free birth control everywhere, but they don't see the need for it. It makes me sad to see what it has come to today. Of course the tax dollar pays for all this. They get everything handed to them, and they don't have to work a day like we did. So the upshot is, they get pregnant, have the child, parents raise said child, young people go on having their fun and we taxpayers foot the bill. What is wrong with this picture?

39  All Around Vermilion County / In My Humble Opinion / Re: TOP TEN MOST CORRUPT POLITICIANS FOR 2009 on: February 03, 2010, 11:49:13 am
And yet the voters put crooked politicians from both parties back in office time after time. I think we all need to take off our blinders. Instead of buying their  spiel every time, look a little closer. They are too busy covering their own back sides to worry about the little guy who puts them in office. So many friends of mine have quit voting because they are of the thinking  that it does no good.Which is sad.

I am not disagreeing about Pres. Bush. I just think it is time to stop playing the Blame game like little kids, and start to try fixing what has been broken. It has been over a year and the whining goes on. I think that is what people are concerned about. Get on with the future, quit living in the past. We are bigger than that, or so I thought.  Try fixing the Congress. The cheaters that are allowed to stay and make us pay them. Rangel ring a bell? Just my take. Love you anyway GA   Wink

It will never happen. It will be glossed over like everything else. Geitner was approved even though he cheated on his taxes. So this too shall also  be swept under the Oval office carpet.

Seems to me ,the wonderful changes just keep on a coming. I really wanted to embrace the new administration, but am finding every day, harder and harder to do. I resent being lied to and being stripped of what benefits I did have,  I have been told, give him time, well how much more time will we have to give?? All my health premiums have raised along with food .gas utilities and the list goes on and on. They keep blaming Bush, but that is also getting old. The past is past, move on and get something done in the here and now. Put the health bill  on hold for now, concentrate on jobs and the economy. Get the Congress under control and lead them ,not let them lead you, Mr. President. Sorry my soap box was calling this morning.
