1. My grade school teacher at "Franklin School" told our class we would be driving a nuclear powered car by the time we graduated from high school.
2.The lottery would solve the schools financial problems once & for all.
3.Energy from the Clinton power plant would be almost to cheap to even meter.
4.We would lose our dependance on foreign oil. Numerous politicians & Presidents made that statement.
5.We would have a base on the moon.
I'm sure many in the forum can think of things they were told that never happened over the years. These are a few I can remember. Would like to hear things others can remember.
6.The most devastating of all......Their realy is no Santa Claus! Merry Xmas to all on the forum!

Maybe that's why they tore Franklin school down. Wanted to put a stop to all the lies. Doesn't seem too educational. Oops I forgot. Franklin was in Dist 118.

Me too....I was told in school that everyone would be getting around like this.... Source for photoHey MM...I think I read that we actually do have a base on the moon...it's just Super Top Secret! I was also told that I would forget about the pain of child-birth. Never happened.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity, but the one that removes awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside. --Allan Bloom

DJ,
Got a kick out of your graphic! Maybe Franklin School was another dimension of the "Twilight Zone!"

Anyone remember the old Weekly Reader or Junior Scholastic? Yeah...I thought by 2000 the general public was suppose to have all these really cool space age gadgets. Oh sure...we got a micro wave but what else? Too bad the Nazis were allowed to take over NASA and all the Top Secret projects and decided all the wonderful inventions should be used for weapons instead of gifts for humanity.
