State Rep. Bill Black, R-Danville, said he will announce this morning whether he will run for another term next year.

The Internet was full of speculation Monday evening after state Rep. John Fritchey, D-Chicago, wrote on Twitter: "Just got an e-mail from Rep. Bill Black saying he is definitely retiring. A stellar person & Rep. I'll miss him."

But Black said he had "not made a final decision. I'm close to it though."

I've always like Bill Black and think he has done a lot of good for Vermilion County over the years.  But, lately, he seems discontent with his political life.  Perhaps, it's time for Bill to get on his horse and ride off into the sunset.

He should have rode off into the sunset before last election. I think he needed to know if he was still a popular guy. Egomania I believe they call it.

It is time for him to go. I imagine politicians have trouble giving up the good life they enjoy while in office. Lot's of perks, but he will have a nice pension I am sure. And he will probably get cost of living raises. Sorry, a little tongue in cheek there.
