I couldn't figure out why certain words were being censored here, when in fact I had never added any censored words to the forum settings here. It turns out this is something Simple Machine Forums did on their own to comply with their advertisers.

I see it as heavy-handed control but seeing as how this forum is Free....there's nothing to be done about it. Seems rather strange that the word p-e-d-o-phile is being censored.  I wonder why the advertisers have a problem with the word pedophilia?
