I'm thinking about buying a netbook, but don't know much about them except that they are small and easy to carry around.  Does anyone on the forum have one?  If so, what are the pros and cons?  Looks like they may be a good way to stay in touch when traveling.  Appreciate all opinions.

I have the Acer Aspire one.  It works really well for that purpose.  I receive many attachments in emails that I cannot open and read when traveling on my blackberry.  This allows me to take my important files on a jump drive and easily read and respond to my email from any location.  It would probably be an enhancement to be able to access my desktop through one of those online services, but I am not that tech savvy.  Good luck.

I always start by looking at comparisons. http://laptopsmatrix.com/Netbooks/

I also have an Acer Aspire. It was around $300 and very portable.

Glad to hear that Acer one works well. I have this large laptop and besides being afraid of doing something to it while traveling, it is heavy!! I would love to have a smaller one to use while traveling and to take to work with me, i could eat a cup of soup at the nearby restaurant and mess with my computer at lunchtime.
