Hunting season is now open; for at least doves and squirrels. I believe I will get my hunting license online today; my public land permit and head to the woods tomorrow. Perhaps I can get a few of those wary wild squirrels. And if you are only familiar with the squirrels you see in town, the wild critter is a whole different creature. It is very difficult to get close. My dogs will be along also, so that may or may not help the situation, but they are my confirmed hiking and hunting partners. Fresh squirrel with mushroom soup poured over it.....sounds good already!

I live not too far from the city limits and lots of farm land where Dove hunters hunt. Early in the morning you can hear the sounds of the hunters guns and you can also see hundreds of Doves sitting safely on the roofs of the houses just inside of the city limits.........smart birds!
