Madisons,  I do hundreds of cookies and candies for Christmas gifts.  My cupboards are full of supplies that I have been buying for the past month in anticipation of making those cookies and candies.  I also collect tins all year long from garage sales to pack them in.  I intend to add some of your recipes to the mix this year........ GA... I hope the candy  turns out good.  I like to add a few pieces of several different kinds of candy in the gift packages.  I love to make candy, and usually am pretty good at it.  Guess it makes up for not being able to make pie crust.  I'm a miserable failure at it.  Have tried many different recipes over the years and have finally given up.

BTW... I found my walnut brittle recipe that is cooked on the stove.  Yea!  I think my microwave is too powerful, I usually end up burning nuke candy.  I like the old fashioned way using a candy thermometer.

My Microwave is one of the first GE models to come out.  I have had it since the dark ages.  When I first got it my husband kidded me about having a $500 (yes, they cost that much back then) hot dog cooker.  I only use it for defrosting and melting chocolate or warming veggies.  It's been a very good appliance.....but since I don't cook much with it....well you get the picture.

Crock Pot Chicken And Stuffing

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 cup chicken broth
4 slices swiss cheese

1 (10.75 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
1/4 cup milk
2 cups herb seasoned stuffing mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
salt and pepper to taste

Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper, place in the crock pot.  Put a slice of swiss cheese on each chicken breast.  Pour in the chicken broth.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 & 1/2 teaspoons ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
6 pork loin chops (3/4 inch thick), trimmed
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed ream of chicken soup, undiluted
1/3 cup water

In a shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, ground mustard and garlic powder.  Dredge pork chops in mixture.

In a skillet, brown pork chops on both sides in oil.  Place in a slow cooker.  Combine soup and water, pour over chops.  Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until meat is tender.

I chop up one small onion and add it on top of the chops before putting in the soup/water mixture.  I also add ground pepper to taste, and if I want lots of gravy, I double the soup and water.

Since retirement, I've started cooking a lot more to take some of the burden from my wife.  Since my parents ran a restaurant for 35 years in the Queen City, I never considered myself to be a novice.  So, I tried this recipe last night and it was delicious.  Only complaint is that you and GA seem to have stopped posting crock pot recipes.

Kudos for taking some of the burden off your wife.  I'll see what I can do about posting more crockpot recipes.
