In case you knew anyone who died during the pointless carnage back then...

The first link is to a virtual wall of Americans lost during the Vietnam War.  Those who remember that timeframe, or perhaps lost friends or family, can look them up on this site.

http://www.virtualwall.org/iStates.htm

First click on a state.  When it opens, scroll down to the city and the names will appear.  Then click on their names.  It might show a picture of the person or at least a partial bio and medals.

According to the site below, 58,226 American soldiers died in the Vietnam War or declared missing in action.  Further information at:

Good question Winston and thanks for the links.

The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity, but the one that removes awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside. --Allan Bloom

Sikeston is celebrating it's Sequicentenial this year and as a part of it they are bringing the traveling wall here.  It's been here before and I can say that it's a humbling experience to view it.   There are several from Southeast Missouri and the surrounding areas on it.
